How often does the IP address change?

The IP address changes every 24 hours.

Can I choose what country the IP address is located in?

No, the IP address will always be located within the US.

What information is visible to my ISP?

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is able to determine that your Web browsing traffic is connecting to the server being used by Anonymizer that day, as well as the volume of traffic you are passing through your Web browsers.

What information is visible to the Web sites I visit?

The Web sites you visit will be able to see the browser you are using, the Operating System, and the character set. Anonymizer will provide the IP address and location. All cookies placed by a Web site will detect and record the Anonymizer IP address.

I receive the following error:
  • The Everyone else sees IP matches my real IP address.
  • Cannot connect to servers.
  • Cannot start local proxy.
  • Unable to log in to pmproxy.
  • IP address given is 255.255.255.255

This can indicate that your browser or firewall is blocking the software. Please visit the Support pages for the resolution.

I keep getting a message, “Cannot authenticate you with our Privacy Network“.

First, please try exiting the program and your browser and reopening the software. This is generally seen when your Internet connection has dropped and Anonymous Surfing has not resecured your connection. If you are still experiencing problems, please follow the steps above to check your browser and firewall settings.

Are there any compatibility issues with other security software?

You should have no issues with your firewall or antivirus programs. However, please allow your Anonymizer software, anonymizer.exe, AnonMgmtSvc.exe, and anonproxy.exe, complete access within your firewall when installing and activating the software. Anonymous Surfing is not compatible with Zone Alarm ForceField or other browsers that are opened through a third party application.
